Artist Statement

Fused glass is an ongoing exploration of methods and tools. Glass allows me to emphasize a relationship between glass types, show the impact of colors next to one another, express a sense of movement, create textures, depth, reflect the beauty of a landscape, and create amazing surface treatments using reactive glass. I enjoy creating functional work, art glass and jewelry. The possibilities are endless.

About the Artist

Exploration of glass began after purchasing two pieces of fused glass jewelry from a glass museum. I was amazed by the beauty of glass. I now work with fused glass full time and teach a few glass classes when possible. Learning about the possibilities of glass has expanded for me as I have taken intensive classes for the last several years. I have been working with this medium for seven years. My work has been selected over seven times to be a part of the marketing tool for art/craft shows in print (newspaper and magazine) and included as a postcard mailings. I have won two awards for a jewelry piece from organizations in Florida and Michigan. I participate in shows throughout the region and have representation in several stores.
