Artist Statement

Nancy’s Nuggets’ braids and jewelry uses original Kumihimo techniques. Braids can be of silk, satin, cording, specialty yarns, and can be mixed with beads to add to the beauty of the braids. Only the best quality beads are used. I use Miyuki beads (the first and oldest of the Japanese seed bead manufacturers) often with 24K gold filled types, Toho, (another original Japanese seed bead manufacturer), Swarovski crystals of all shapes and sizes, Preciosa highest quality Czech glass beads, Murano glass beads, pearls ( many types of fresh and cultured), and Golem high quality handmade ceramic beads and pendants, to name a few. Findings ( the items that hold the necklace or bracelet around your neck or wrist) are either gold, gold filled, silver, silver filled, or copper. If you are allergic to metals, please contact me for help with a different solution to a connector.

I use magnetic clasps at times for ease of attachment. Magnetic clasps should not be used with people with pacemakers but I can make the appropriate clasp for those customers who like a certain piece but need a non-magnetic connector. I also use my own design of wire to make my clasps adding a unique look to the piece.

Care and Cleaning: Nancy’s Nuggets Kumihimo braids are to be treated as fine jewelry. The braids are not to be washed or worn in bathing.
