Artist Statement:

My artwork is an expression of my love for color and texture. Mixed media collage is my medium of choice because of its wealth of texture and shapes and for the way it lends itself to many different materials and painting mediums. For me it's always new and exciting.

The "paintings" are primarily created with various types and colors of papers that are either cut or torn and then glued to a support; you might say I paint with paper. The images are then embellished with various and sundry items such as watercolors, fabric paints, acrylics, gold leaf, fossil leaves, glass, seashells, gems, rocks, feathers, fossils (you name it) and all pieces are ultimately splattered with a wash of metallic gold paint to create a feeling of uniformity.

The subject matter varies from landscape to wildlife to still life and even abstract, but it's always all about the color. Rich colors in the right combinations bring such joy to our lives by subconsciously elevating our moods and I want to share a little of that joy with others.
