Artist Statement

Candra grew up surrounded by a huge creative hardworking family, with artist in many fields. A survivor of Juvenile Diabetes Type 1, over 40 years and counting! A self taught Jewelry Designer, single mother and business woman with a degree in psychology and a LOVE for creating and learning new things. Candra's Designs got started by a need – for a medical bracelet. Growing tried of all the medical jewelry available. No art and/or  VERY expensive. So, Candra created her very own, medical bracelet. People loved it so much ... they started placing orders, and Candra's Designs was born – renamed Candra's Secret in 2011. The love from family and friends and for sports got Candra designing hand-spun sport beads and jewelry.

Candra's paper collection comes from everywhere ... all over the world. Artwork used for beads and other jewelry designs are done by Candra, her family and friends. Colorful art creates the most unusual hand-spun paper beads you can find. Candra also recycles paper from anything including junk mail – if it inspires her. Each bead is unique. No two beads are ever the same. Paper is truly delicate, until it undergoes Candra's labor of love. Candra's beads are strong and look like glass.
