Artist Statement

I come to the art of metalsmithing from a most unusual background.  For a number of years I worked as a screenwriter and feature film producer.  During that time I produced seven feature films and had the good fortune to work with wonderful actors such as Brenda Blethyn, Naomi Watts, Alfred Molina, James Caan, Jennifer Tilly and Christopher Walken.
 
Jewelry making had been a passion of mine for quite some time.  I love the process of designing, pounding and shaping metal into unique and intriguing jewelry that makes a personal statement.  No two of my designs are ever identical since each is hand forged and every stone hand set by me personally.  This way you can be assured that the piece of jewelry you are wearing was created by me for you and you alone.  
 
In my designs, you will find copper, sterling silver, fine silver and 14K gold.  For embellishment, I mainly use semi-precious gemstones, genuine Swarovski crystals, and custom-made artisan glass beads.  Every stone and bead is handpicked by me from the stone cutter or the glass artist.  I enjoy the creative process and take great pride in seeing my work worn and enjoyed by my clients.
 
I am a founding partner of Miner Street Arts Gallery in West Chester, PA.  I am also a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Goldsmiths and the Newark Arts Alliance.  I teach jewelry making at the Delaware Art Museum and at The Yorklyn Center For The Creative Arts.
