Sarah's inspiration comes from many sources; particularly the beauty of contrasts. A sprig of green peeking through a field of brown decay or concrete, a ray of light penetrating darkness or a cloudy sky, a moment of inspiration cutting through a fog of indecision or a patch of personal darkness. She is always in search of new ways to play of colors and textures in rich combinations. Whatever media Sarah works with the one constant is the small, intimate scale of her work; creating small richly colored, and often highly textured items that invite you to experience them personally, rather than items that can be glanced at from a distance she wants you to come close and take time to experience them.
