Artist Statement

I love the luminosity and translucence of watercolor and the impressionism of oils. Design and creativity have been infused in my education through a bachelor's degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design, and a masters degree in Biology Education. I taught for nearly twenty years for the Cape Henlopen School District. Prior to teaching I was the Conservationist for Erosion and Sediment Control for the Sussex Soil Conservation District. In that role I reviewed and monitored erosion and sediment control plans.
In retirement I have studied with nationally recognized artists such as Mary Whyte, Charles Reid, Roger Dellar and many others. I am passionate about plein air painting and participate in the Children's Beach House plein air event and Plein Air Artists of the Mid Atlantic.
I teach watercolor adults and students. I am member of Milton Arts Guild, the Delaware Watercolor Society, and Rehoboth Art League. You can find me outside painting or golfing. Look for www.annebuck.com
