Artist Statement

I have been painting the Eastern Shore of the DelMarVa Peninsula for 8 years. My preferred medium is oil. I am finding inspiration for my paintings primarily in the Delaware countryside, the farms, the ocean, the sky, the clouds and the people.

In exploring Delaware's natural beauty, I am never without my camera. My photographs serve as a springboard for my imagination. I would call my style impressionistic. The viewer should be able to just barely recognize a scene but also experience some emotional connection to the depicted places, people or objects.

I am an award winning member of the Rehoboth Art League, Cape Artists of Lewes at 110 W. Third St., Lewes, DE, the Milton Arts Guild at 310 Walnut St., Milton, and Delaware By Hand. I exhibit my work regularly and have been juried into the 'Local Color' show in Easton, MD. My painting of the Blue Ridge Mountains was on exhibit at the Biggs Museum of American Art.

All the paintings shown on my website are available for sale with the exception of Miette blowing dandylion seeds.
