Artist Statement

As VESTA I provide my clients with an array of writing and editing services (e.g. website content, ghostwriting), but I channel my own creative energies primarily into writing novels, with occasional diversions into nonfiction. Far from inhabiting separate spheres, my business and creative efforts are united by the common element of narrative: what is the story and who is its audience? This unusual -- and perhaps unique -- approach works equally, and surprisingly, well for resume-writing as it does for fiction.

I have written two novels of historical fantasy, one of which I am presently circulating to publishers and agents. In 2005 and 2006 I wrote a monthly column, "Zocalo", for Living.Well Magazine, and in May 2007 my article on fantasy literature appeared in Shaman's Drum, a national publication based in Portland, OR. I also lead seminars on historical and literary topics at The Seventh Academy (Wilmington, DE). I am currently at work on two more novels, as well as an introductory guide to astrology.
