Artist Statement

Instead of listening to the voices in my mind that have always helped me handle the technique of painting, I am listening to the voices in my heart. Nothing is predictable any longer. I rely on what I know about painting and my heart is leading me to develop images that I never thought would see the light of day. They are the images that have always been inside yet unfinished. When I see these images on the easel and on my display, I know I painted them but I am not sure how.

I am an explorer, inventor, and discoverer. I love the journey and not knowing where it will lead. The questions what if and why not, always echos in my mind. I work both in plein air and in the studio. The works done in the studio are mostly the landscapes of my memories and experiences. The plein air paintings force me to stop dreaming and partake in reality where I dance with the air and light.

Tara exhibits in many solo and group exhibitions and competes in plein air competitions regularly. Her work is held in public and private collections in Europe and the U.S. She received a B.A. from Chestnut Hill College and teacher certification from Kutztown University. She is a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. She continues to teach many art workshops and has taken many groups to Europe to study.
