Artist Statement

Roger grew up in a middle-class family in upstate New York.  His father was a toolmaker by profession.  Roger often worked helping his father in his shop and learned quickly there is nothing that can't be created, repaired, or modified if you have the right tool and know how to use it.

After 4 years in the Navy and Forty plus years in the computer industry he has turned his life long love of wood working into his new profession.

Roger wants his art to be both pleasing to the eye as well as a functional item.
His turned wooden pepper grinder shaped like one of the WWII Observation Towers along the Delmarva Peninsula has been a popular local item.

He is particularly proud of the items he has made for his church - the Altar Cross, a Baptismal Font, Altar Candle Holders, and an Advent Candle Stand.

"People want to touch a beautiful piece of wood, why not make it useful as well as beautiful?"
